Distortion Model
We illustrate the distortion model of 3DE V3. The function for removing
distortion is modelled by a polynomial of degree three in the two
screen coordinates, while for the function for applying distortion
to an image we give a formulation of a numerical procedure (Newton)
including a method for obtaining reasonable initial values. Finally,
we extend our model by a radially symmetric term of order five, which
enables us to handle strong distortions for which the four-parameter-model
could be insufficient.
